What follows is the mission of FishTravelEat.
We’ve been thinking, we’ve been reading and we’ve been fishing.
Through the course of our travels, we have distilled the essence of What FishTravelEat is. The result is no real shift in anything—it turns out that our course really hasn’t ever deviated.
The Magical Powers of Introspection
Since July of 2020, when we tossed this tug into the water, we’ve been publishing our take on thoughtful, interesting fishing content. We’ve interviewed experts, included the perspectives of some of our buddies (like Chef Cosmo Goss, Captain Kiwi Van Leeuwen, Captain Shane Jarvis, and Captain Anthony Lopez, to name a few who happen to be really good at catching fish) and generally expressed our views that:
- Fishing is Good for You and Makes Life Better.
- Fishing provides a great platform for adventure and the experience of culture.
- The perspective you gain from travel and adventure benefits people greatly.
We’ve also expressed our belief that the “fishing” category does not entirely define these benefits. Ours has been a genre that sits at the confluence of fishing, food and travel.
In many ways, this is virgin soil. It really hasn’t been tilled—there are still some old growth forests here. While we weren’t quite sure what to expect, it turns out that this is a fun place to be…

Inhabited by interesting people, with plenty of cold beverages, this space is quite a bit of fun. What’s more, in this arena, you never really know what will happen next—because the world’s full of adventure and people who are ready to have a good time.
As we ventured into a new genre, we also realized that our content has a tendency to skew toward the smart ass. We figured that the stories—kinda like my kids– come by it naturally, so rather than trying to modify our behavior to fit within the bounds of what you might expect, we’d embrace it.
Our Mission Statement (or Video or whatever you’d like to call it)
After thinking about it—on boats and planes, in the shower and in the office—we decided to distill our vision. Here is the product.
This, is what FishTravelEat is all about. Thank you for reading. We appreciate the hell out of it.
